Making decisions based on what we believe is right can be incredibly challenging, especially when emotions cloud our judgment. As a person in my twenties, I understand the tumult of emotions that can accompany decision-making. It’s natural to question whether we’re making the right choices when the outcomes are uncertain.

In relationships, the stakes are high. It takes courage to love someone fully, knowing that they might hurt us or leave us. It’s far easier to avoid love altogether, but true strength lies in opening ourselves up to vulnerability and connection. Many people shy away from this, opting instead for the perceived safety of solitude, only to find themselves trapped in a cycle of loneliness and regret.

The allure of greener pastures can be tempting, leading some to leave behind what they have in search of something better. But often, they realize too late that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. They may attempt to return to what they left behind, only to find themselves stuck in a cycle of misery.

Yet, amidst this uncertainty, there is profound beauty in love. Waking up next to someone you love, sharing in their triumphs and comforting them in their sorrows, is a priceless gift. But what if that love is unrequited? It takes immense strength to accept that reality and let go, allowing the other person to find their happiness even if it’s without us.

The art of letting go is a story without a clear resolution. Sometimes, it’s best to leave it with a graceful twist, acknowledging that while it’s hard to leave someone we love, it may be the right thing to do. Imagining their happiness from afar, even if it doesn’t include us, can bring a sense of peace.

In love, there’s always a happy ending, but it may not always be for us. And that’s okay. What matters is that we find solace in knowing that the ones we love are happy, even if it’s without us by their side.

“Of all women dead or alive, a scribbling woman is the most canine.” If that should be true, then this author would like to show you her teeth.
